What is Powerflushing?
Powerflushing is an effective method of removing the majority of sludge and dirt that gradually builds up within your central heating system. Over time you may notice a gradual reduction in efficiency of your heating system as sludge coats the internal surfaces of your radiators and pipework. It also clogs pumps and valves reducing the circulating efficiency. The system may also become noisier.
All boiler manufacturers are now insisting that existing systems are powerflushed as part of their warranty. This is due to the number of boiler failures caused by sludge ingress. It is also worthwhile fitting a system filter to catch any remaining magnetic sludge from entering your new boiler. We would recommend either Fernox TF1 or Magna Clean.
